Kim & Ari Novick

Magic Terrarium
Santa Cruz Mountains

Kim and Ari Novick purchased the old Howard Family Vineyard in 2020, renamed it Kimari, and converted the entire property to biodynamics. Their home vineyard sits amongst a myriad other fruit trees, indigenous plants, and wild animals and has the feeling of a terrarium–enclosed on three sides by redwoods with the omnipresent Pacific to the west. Their 1980’s planting of Chardonnay is one of Santa Cruz county’s oldest, and under the direction of local viticultural legend Prudy Foxx–they have planted a vine nursery and are preserving (and only using) the original plant material in the vineyard. The future is definitely bright here.
